Home MenuWater Treatment Plant and Other Water Improvements
2020 marked the start of several major reconstruction projects aiming to update and improve the city's major drinking water components. These projects included: new wells and decommissioning of older wells, centralizing water treatment to a new plant that provides softened water, and a new water tower. Find more details about each of the projects below.
Before the reconstruction projects, some of the water supply components had installation dates from the mid 1920's. In late 2017, the City Council authorized an in-depth study of the actions needed to ensure reliable drinking water into the future. After a series of studies and community outreach in 2018 and 2019, the City was able to move forward with the infrastructure replacements.
