The City of Robbinsdale requires a City License for Plumbing, Mechanical, Water/Sewer, Street Excavation, Concrete, Sign work and any Commercial work in order to pull permits and perform services within the city.  General Contractors must be city licensed when working on commercial property and be state licensed to work on residential properties.  All electrical work must be conducted by a state licensed electrician.

CONTRACTOR LICENSE APPLICATION

Please submit along with the application,

• a CURRENT copy of your General Liability (including Workers Comp if applicable) Insurance Certificate with the City of Robbinsdale as the certificate holder.

• A Copy of any State Licenses that may be applicable (i.e.; Mechanical Bond, Master Plumber etc.).

• $50.00 Annual Fee for each license.

Property Information or Zoning Information Request Form

If you are trying to obtain property records (i.e.; permit information, inspection status, plans, etc.) please log onto the BS&A Online portal.  Enter ONLY the house numbers in the search bar.  This will bring up all addresses with those numbers.  Click on the site you wish to view. Information online only goes back to 2007. If you need earlier records or would like to obtain ALL the records for a property, please bring a flash drive to City Hall and we will be happy to download the information for you. 

In order to split water service in duplexes and townhomes, please follow the steps below:

1. Hire a plumber to check that this is a viable option.
2. If all checks out, the plumber will need to pull a permit to split the water.
3. The homeowner will then need to purchase the water meter through the Engineering Department, which is about $177. 
4. Once the water meter is installed, the Public Works Department will need to come to the property to hook up the reader to start reading the water usage. 

Please note that a secondary copy of the utility bill may be sent to a tenant at the request of the homeowner. This secondary copy will always be addressed to “Current Occupant”. The City does not maintain utility bills in the name of a tenant.
