The process of installing solar panels at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) began in August of 2024! There will be 228 panels on the roof of the WTP. It's expected that the panels will produce 135,174 kWh of energy in just the 1st year of operation! The WTP Solar project is being funded by the city’s general operating budget, but once the panels are in service, we will receive a 30% credit in the form of “direct pay” thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act!

Solar panels will also be installed on the roof of Robbinsdale City Hall in upcoming months. City Hall’s solar array will consist of 92 panels!
